in Asp if you to save a date to a standard field you can use cLng
(Date) in Asp to convert the current date to integer date.

Standard Field - Date (Type 5)

The following attributes are specially designed for the Date field in
the Standard Field element:

value    Date as integer. 37622 stands, for example, 01.01.2003.  Date
Conversion

In CMS, date information is always given as a floating point number or
as an integer. A floating point number includes that date and time,
whereas the integer only contains the date.
