Sounds like you should probably be using a different method to achieve
your goal.  If you can articulate the problem you are trying to solve
I'm sure you'll receive many helpful suggestions for solving the
problem.

I would suggest adding references to every list in your site is "doing
it the hard way", and probably not going to work when your site
contains 500 pages - which it may never do, but you get my point.
