Hi Morgan,
Many thanks for all of your suggestions.
What I have discovered is that the "RedDot PageBuilder Service" is not being
installed correctly i.e. the service can't start. Oddly the RD installer
seems to be skipping it completely as there is no "PageBuilderService"
folder inside of "{path}\RedDot\CMS\Services\. Very odd indeed. CMS seems
to create the service in that it appears in Service Manager but can't start
as it can not find the path.
In another installation attempt I saw a slightly different message
saying "Error:
BuildNavigationErr: ERROR#-2147024894, File or assembly name Reddot.Vb6, or
one of its dependencies, was not found., Line 0 (ErrorLine:0)".
Reddot.Vb6.dll sits in the above mentioned PageBuilder folder.
So it would seem that the installer is having trouble in some way - most
likeley permissions. I am indeed installing on a VM so I think the quickest
rout out of this is to start with a clean VM and go from there. RD has
previously worked on this very VM but short time ago PreExecute just stopped
working so I think some kind of patch has caused it or some password has
been changed which I was not aware of. I need to stay on this version for
now as the client is yet to upgrade.
No matter how many times I install/maintain RD I still see new things! I'll
reply back and share whatever I learn.
Craig.
