Richard-- The "Clean up live server" setting under project variant takes care of Web server or remote ftp directory, as the name suggests.
LiveServer(spelled without space) or the newly minted "Delivery Server" (I think OpenText deserves an originality award for coming up with such an exciting name!) has a specific publication setting under the Publication node. The "create delete list" needs to be checked. You are a RedDot veteran so it would be presumptuous to think that you did not know that; nevertheless, your note did not make any reference to that setting so I am just here to serve a humble reminder. I've used this feature to great extents on many projects -- some of which had major content overhauls -- and it has not failed me once. Can you confirm that the failure you are experiencing is against such proper setting? I will be darned if they have managed to destroy this feature in RedDot CMS with version 10.
