Why would you leave content pages out of the nav? I woul drestirct the level of the nav to the first x levels (maybe stopping short of teh actual content pages) but they would still be master pages in teh nav, you can do lots with navigation manager, you dont have to output the pages in the nav but keep them in as master pages so they are in the underlying navigation
