Hi Joe,

Go to Administer Project Settings -> Project -> Project Variants

select variant name, "Edit Project Variant" from action menu

Enable "clean up live server".

Upon enabling this, CMS starts creating a record pages that has been
published, a sync file if you will.  Then, upon page deletion and page
republish, CMS would know which file to remove from live web server.
