Hi Daniel, I have seen that before when I was using JavaScript/JQuery to remove/clone a DOM object containing SmartEdit reddot. That crashes things the same way.
I guess you can use FireFox firebug or Chrome to debug things in SmartEdit mode, but I think you will only see the error from a Management Server js, instead of the js that causes the error. Hope this info give you a head start.
