Hi Neil,

i think the different guid is normal for child projects that are created
new. When you copy the project the guid will be the same.
In theory, the basic content classes GUID can be changed in the database,
it you must adjust the dependencies very precise.
Dependencies at first glance would be: Content Class Elements, Content
Class Folder, Instances, Archive, ...

Use these Links and have fun with this idea:

https://wikispaces.psu.edu/display/reddot/RedDot+CMS+Database+Layout
http://www.reddotcmsblog.com/project-database-schema

If you experienced any problems, no support from Open Text is probably to
be expected.

But I have another suggestions:

Variant A:
Copy a project where the content classes GUID matches and empty its
contents as far as needed. Export the old project the content via subtree
export and import them into the new project.
Then hard work of publishing, workflow, permissions, users, groups,
rights, project settings follow.
With this you have your wanted setup. The advantage of full support from
Open Text.

Variant B
Export the whole project (Files most are XML Format). Here you can search
after to change guid and search and replace it over all files.
Then reimport the project as new and check if it works. I haven't tested
this way.
Maybe you can try this. Server Manager Config (User,Group, Rights) is lost
over these way and must be new set.
You get support on import error, but no support of changes of guid.

Variant C
Version from Huang. Use the name of content class not the guid.

Hope it helps, would be nice if you can post your solution.

Best Regards
