Cisco 627 ATM-25 ADSL Modem

    Cisco 627 ATM-25 ADSL Modem

    Product Overview

The Cisco 627 ATM-25 asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) modem is designed for small and branch offices to provide cost-effective access to high-speed ADSL services. The leading Cisco architecture and compact design of the Cisco 627 makes it a low-cost, high-value DSL solution. The Cisco 627 preserves the customer`s investment in existing business class routers, allowing them to take advantage of new world applications and packet telephony.

    Key Features and Benefits

The Cisco 627 ATM-25 Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Modem features:

    • Plug-and-play installationthe Cisco 627 is simple and easy to use-no modem configuration or service provider provisioning procedures are needed to install and operate the modem.

    • PPP over ATM supportbecause the Cisco 627 operates as an ATM bridge, transparent support for any protocol is available, including support for PPP over ATM for easy and secure navigation support and integration with the leading Cisco DSL services architecture.

    • Multiple DSL linkstwo DSL connections can be established using Multilink PPP enabled on business-class routers, such as the Cisco 3600. With the addition of a second ATM WAN interface and Cisco 627 modem, the theoretical throughput of the WAN connection can effectively be doubled.

    • Priority queuesthe Cisco 627 supports high- and low-priority traffic queues for prioritizing voice and data traffic across the WAN link.

    • Management supportthe Cisco 627 is managed through a command-line interface accessible through the management serial port or remotely through Layer 3 in-band management features. Up to four virtual circuits (VCs) can be configured in the Cisco 627.

    • Simultaneous voicetelephone support-an optional basic telephone service splitter is available to provide simultaneous high-speed data and voice telephone service support over a common user telephone line.

    • Lifeline basic telephone servicethrough design, a power outage or failure condition of the Cisco 627 will not interrupt voice telephone service, a capability known as lifeline basic telephone service.

    • Safety and compliancethe Cisco 627 is designed for worldwide safety and electromagnetic certifications (EMC).
