I noticed the version of tar on mt RHL 6.1 system looked rather swish, so
I thought I'd update it on my 4.2 & 5.x systems. Since I was downloading,
I grabbed the rawhide src.rpm
On my RHL 5.x system it built fine using rpm-3.0.2-5.x
On the RHL 4.2 system it doesn't configure

What's the significant difference between my 5.x and 6.1 systems?
Note: the build put nothing in /tmp/Btar/usr/share/
Note 2: all systems are running 2.2 kernels.
