The rp3 configuration tool (rp3-config) hooks into wvdial's internals to
probe for modems and read and write the wvdial.conf file.

That's usually how we do it, but rp3 is a special case because most of the
work done on it is "in-house". I've incorporated your fix and a few others
into GNOME CVS and built a fresh package for Raw Hide, which should show up
when we next push Raw Hide out.
