Murugan,

I guess this message should have gone to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] rather
than the redhat-devel list. In any case, first of all try to dedicate a box to the
IRC server in order to avoid security issues. IRC is usually a security hassle, and
by running it on its own without any other service in the box you limit any possible
problems. Besides, this way you can also isolate the box by using ipchains or simply
a Cisco router. Second, download and install an IRC daemon, such as ircd. Check out
these pages:

http://marshallnet.linux.tucows.com/conhtml/ser_irc.html
http://www.freshmeat.net/appindex/daemons/irc.html

Finally, make sure you read the documentation for the daemon you choose, and
also brush up on IRC commands:

http://www.geocities.com/~mirc/irc.html
http://www.geocities.com/~mirc/cmds.html`
