   If you can reproduce this problem you might want to give a heads-up 
to the USB developers on their mailing lists too (see 
linux-usb.sourceforge.net).  The HP 880C is one of a few HP printers 
with known problems with their USB ports (I have one too); I dunno if 
the problem is related.
