No, it is not the only difference. Suggest posting to the shrike list,
posting your iptables rules, and tell more about what dns servers you are
trying to use. To me this sounds like you are not allowing dns queries
through your firewall and you are waiting for it to time out and then it
checks the secondary dns server and gets an answer. That is just a guess and
this is off topic for this list. Sooooooo, ask again on the correct list
and provide more information.
