As root, use sndconfig. Select "Sound Blaster 16" as your card. Select
0x220 as the I/O Port. Select 5 as the IRQ. Select 1 as the 8bit DMA.
Tho, I'm not sure what you should select as the 16bit DMA. Anyway,
after following that to its logical conclusion you should hear a test
sample and then be asked if you want to save the changes. Select "OK".
If anyone knows of how to determine the 16bit DMA can you let me know?
My card reports DMAs 1 & 3. However, the 16bit DMA prompts for either
5,6,or 7... I know my card is 16bit, though. BTW, that test sample
sounds terrible to me... could this indicate that it's not correctly
setup for 16bit sound?
