I was just asking about how to quiet these messages down. I looked all
over the place and this advise below seems to be the answer to the
problem. BUT!
Where is the conf.modules file documented? Why is it called modules.conf
on other people's machines? What are the other commands that can be put
into this file? Where do I send my membership dues for my MSM degree
(Master of Science in Modules)?
Thanks guys.

Make sure the following is in /etc/conf.modules:
alias net-pf-3 off
alias net-pf-4 off
alias net-pf-5 off

Yes, modprobe will find any dependancies for the module you are currently trying
to load.
