John,
Officially it is called a supplemental disk. It contains PCMCIA and SCSI
support. The files could also be find on the RedHat CD if you are using
that. But it has to be copied to a disk if you want to install PCMCIA
during installation. Or you may install PCMCIA afterwards. Hope this
general ideas will help you.
