You have to point it to the right directory on the server. Something like
/mirrors/redhat/RedHat/i386/ or some such.  It all ways takes me a few
tries to get it right, but I think the /i386 is critical, either that or
one of the directories one above or bellow it.  I am kind of fond of
ftp.varesearch.com myself.
