Hiya,
I'm having a problem with ncftp, where it is almost impossible to read
the output of ncftp. Don't get me wrong, everything appears on the
screen... but it appears all higgledy-piggledy ;-) Sorry, that's the
only way I can explain it. Bits of words appear on dirrerent lines, the
prompt does not reappear after issuing a command (you have to hit enter
first in order to see the prompt again), the prompt/command-line is
obscured by the status bar (reverse highlighted text at the bottom),
etc...
I've tried changing the terminal type from linux to vt100 to vt102,
etc... no change. I've also tried using it within an nxterm, an xiterm,
an xterm, an rxvt... no change. So, I'm assuming this is to do with the
program and not my setup... am I right?
Any ideas?
As an aside: What is the difference between all those terminal
emulators? Do I really need all of them?
ps. I know I'm like a Knowledge Vampire... but I need to draw off the
knowledge of others before I'll have any help to offer anyone else... In
other words, I don't know much yet, but I'll know a lot soon, and then
I'll be able to give back what I've taken.
Regards,
David Taylor.
