I already knew that (it says it in the error message). However, I've
already read the man page and looked for cinepak.readme... nowhere to be
seen. I searched my entire hdrive as root and cannot find
cinepak.readme anywhere ... hence, my question on the redhat mailing
list. I would not have posted the question without first looking for
and reading all possible documentation.

So, my question still stands. How do I use xanim to play *.mov files?
