Hello. I just needed a place to express my opinion.

I have read alot of articles on the net saying that RedHat 5.1 is easier to
install then the older versions, and that with 5.0 and 4.2 it was a
difficult and even painful. I disagree. I have been using 4.2 for over 3
months. When it came time to install Red Hat on the computer I am writing
this on, but complications I wasn't really in the mood to resolve arose.
These problems arose only because of recent upgrades, and wouldn't happen if
I tried to install it now. So I bought some used parts, and took some old
ones lying around the house and built a 486DX2/66, 8 MB RAM, and a 545MB
hard drive. The installation went flawlessly, barring a crash while
formatting my hard drive. Installing Win95 was harder than that, freezing
several times for reasons that will never be known.

So can someone tell me what is so hard about installing Linux, and what
makes 5.1 so much better?
