You might want to try switching the cdrom master/slave switch.  Also since
it looks to be that you have the cdrom as the second device on the first
ide controller you might want to try switching it to the first device on
the second ide controller if it is available.  I have heard of some people
having trouble with there atapi cdroms when the master/slave switch is not
set to the right position.
