If it's a NE2000 PCI clone do the following command for indenfication of
your
network card. "cat /proc/pci | more" . Look for networkcard or NE2000
Compatible It
will give you your card's configuration. Remember it, you will need it.
Than use the
network configuration program in X Window or manually vi the
/etc/modules.conf yourself (you'll have to do this automaticly later
on). After configuring your network card, vi the /etc/modules.conf and
put the following after the line where it says ne2000. The card's
configuration is what you must put after the line so, io=0x???? irq=?.
I had the same problem with my Winbond NE2000 PCI clone it was io=0x9600
and
irq=9. Save your file and reboot! And if all goes well, it will find
your card.
