I wouldn't recomend using startx in the console in this case. If
someone gets there, Ctrl-C (or Z) and he has the prompt.
"DontZap" would prevent Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. Don't know about
Ctrl-Alt-Fn.
You may disable (min)getty in inittab for init state 5 (xdm).
I would keep at least one tty if I don't have network access to
the box, just in case X hangs.
Remember, by default root has no telnet access to the box, so you
need to telnet as a regular user, then su.
