I want to measure network throughput between two points in a network.
Until now I have just enabled the chargen service in /etc/inetd.conf and
used NetScan Tools on a Windows Laptop. This sends data to the chargen
server and gives me a throughput in KBytes/Sec.
However, this means that I have to move my laptop to one of the points
in the network that I want to measure from. Since I have Linux boxes all
over the network, it would be easier if I could get Linux to generate
the traffic and produce a KBps measurement instead of using NetScan
Tools.
Any ideas how I could do this?
