As far as I know this board has the VIA Apollo MVP3 Chipset (different
from VP3). It will allow the motherboard to cache up to 512MB RAM (VP3
= 1GB). The chipset will support up to 2MB Cache so you might be able
to get 2MB Cache put on this board should you buy it.

This board also has a 100MHz Front Side Bus. If you buy it make sure
of this.

See http://www.fica.com/ and http://www.via.com.tw/CHIPSETCOMP3.htm
for more details.

I think that the maximum bus speed on this board is 83MHz. The maximum
cacheable RAM for the TX chipset is 64MB.

See http://www.spacewalker.com/12011.html and
http://www.spacewalker.com/569aspec.html for more details.

Also see http://www2.tomshardware.com/chipset.html for more
information on chipsets.

The problem here is that these are different boards from different
vendors with different CPU's. Try and find a vendor that sells both of
these boards and see what the price difference is, that might help you
with your choice. Also see how much Vendor A and B sell the bare CPU's
for.

On paper the FIC board is the better board
