Is /proc in your /etc/fstab ?

rickdman # grep proc /etc/fstab
/proc                     /proc                     proc   defaults

rickdman # ls -ald /proc
dr-xr-xr-x   5 root     root            0 Mar 22 11:42 /proc
rickdman #
