A full install of RHL 5.0 includes support for standard Libc (as opposed
to the new Glibc).  You should still be able to use your old programs on
an updated RHL 5.0 box (don't forget the updates!) without any problem.
Note, though, that you should start thinking about finding a way to port
those to Glibc.  At best, that'll just require recompiling the programs.
At worst, it'll mean having to patch the source code because the original
didn't abide by the various C programming conventions.  Again, though,
you don't *need* to recompile those programs to get them to work under
RHL 5.0.
