Does it works in text mode? if does you have to reiniciate the xdm if you
have it installed, if you dont, try to run mouseconfig and see if in text
mode is working, then see at /etc/X11/XF86Config there is a line that says
the protocol of the mouse you are using it has to say Microsoft.
