Star Office -- there have been tons of discussions about it around here as
to its quality, etc..

I find it okay, but then the only time I have to read .doc files around
here is when idiots send me screen dumps of bounced email messages, and
are unable to comprehend that the rest of the world does not necessarily
speak microsoft. It also does a tolerable job of saving .docs to text..not
great, but readable. It is rather slow. For me it's a very
"gets-the-job-done" sort of tool..not an "elegant-and-I-like-using-it"
sort of tool.
