Hi all.

Take a look at this:

# ps m 408

PID TTY MAJFLT MINFLT TRS DRS SIZE SWAP RSS SHRD LIB DT COMMAND
408 ? 12119 1585263 720 20492 36784 15572 21212 816 0 4921 X :0 -bpp

(408 is the PID of the X server)

The damn thing uses almost 40 megs memory! How do I stop this madness? :)

I use RedHat 5.0, Linux 2.0.33, xfree86 3.3.1 (SVGA server), Afterstep, have
ARK Logic 1000PV chipset.

And btw, Netscape uses 25 megs w/7 windows. Is that normal?

I really don't want my Linux box to use this much memory. I have 48MB
physical and 48MB swap.
