My ISP also uses "cleartext" - In a nutshell, what it means is that
instead of using PAP/CHAP, they require an answer to "login:" and
"password:"

What I did was use Minicom to see what my ISP was exactly looking for,
then wrote a PPP script to fit.  If you want more info, or a copy of my
script, let me know, ok?
