I'd have few questions regarding cookies.
I searched several sites explaining cookie implementation and
how the whole concept works ,but couldn't find any specific
info focusing from the server perspective.
I'd like to try to implement cookies on our website to extract
certain information not available from regular log files.
That'd be on Alpha running RH Linux 5.0 with Apache 1.2.6-4.
The question I couldn't get answer on is how and where is
this information located on the server . I have some some scripts
(Java n' Perl) that I tested on my computer, it brings up the little
cookie window asking for acceptance , but can't find where
the SERVER stores the information about me . I sadly point out ,
that I am not a programer so I can't read it from the script.
I tried CustomLog /path/ "%{cookie}n %r %t" , however this
seems inadequate.
BTW, the information I try to get is how a particular user navigates
through our site, find out dead ends and worn out spots on the carpet.
A link to a site illuminating this would be great as well and , of
course,
I'll be tickled pink and highly appreciative for any response
Sincerely
George Klimes
