Your system was checking to make sure everything was 'ok' after the
shameful way it was treated by being simply 'turned off' =)

Chances are if you wait longer than you did last time after that message
came on your screen, it will eventually finish the check and either let you
in or it won't......Usually linux can handle this on it's own.

If it's more than a matter of simply not waiting long enough, I'll not be
anymore help to you as I've never had the problem of it not recovering from
such an occurrence.
