Well, after all the trouble getting my RH5 box to link to the network, then
switching from MetroX to XFree, I've finally gotten to where I want it,
but:
I keep getting locked up in X! And if it doesn't lock up, it dumps me out
without an error message!
So far, I've changed video cards from an S3Trio64/V2DX to a Diamond Stealth
3D 2000 Pro, changed X servers from MetroX to XFree, and even swapped mice!
I can't even get the 3-button emulation...
I tell ya, if I can't get this fixed up, this Linux box will be of no use
to me...I need to be able to use X, and can't afford having it lock up or
dump me out. I don't know what else I can do...
Is it possible that my monitor may be causing the lock-ups? It's one of
those 'capable of 1280x1024 @ 60Hz' monitors, so I've got several freqs to
'play' with.
Also, where are the SEARCHABLE list archives? I've been told they're
around, somewhere at DejaNews, but darned if I can find them!
