Hello - got a problem here, and I'm really not sure where to go to try and solve it. I'd appreciate any suggestions. We've got a nice fast box running RH5.0 (with the current errata installed). It gets used mostly as an SMB server and a POP3 server. Occasionally (once every few weeks or so), we'll run into a position where suddenly POP ceases to respond. The box will no longer respond to requests on the POP3 port (110). I've not found any indication in the logs that shows any sort of problem that I've found. I have found that stopping and starting INETD (with the script in /etc/rc.d/init.d) will "cure" the problem (temporarily). So perhaps it's inetd getting confused, rather than ipop3d? We're using the POP3 server in the IMAP package. The current rpm version is on the box is imap-4.1.BETA-9. Thanks for your time... --------------------------------------------------------- "Off the keyboard, past the hub, across the firewall, through the router, down the line, ....nothing but net!!"
