I'm using the SVGA X server from XFree86 3.3.2 with my Millennium II -- it's
fine and free. I don't know how it compares to AcelX, but I'm guessing that
it's probably not quite as good, but the price/performace ratio can't be beat.

] XiGraphics' CDE with their AcceleratedX will run circles around most X servers.
] It is neither free nor cheap, and their tech support is spotty, but the
] difference is impressive. We use it on a Matrox Millennium 2 driving a 21"
] Hitachi, and it makes Linux almost user-friendly.
