I've found a site http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/pctel-linux/ that describes a way to get my pctel modem to work on my laptop. I've read the readme file and it askes me to find out the chipset
2) Find out what chipset you have in your board: 3) ./configure Options: --with-hal=hal Select one of: pct789, cm8738, i8xx, sis, via686a It may be a bit of a stupid question but how can I do that? Are there any programs for either windows or linux that'll help me figure that out? If it helps I still have the pre-installed windows XP Pro still installed! I'd appreciate any help at all.
