Ok, I've got the player RPMS finished (and I think, working correctly).
They are located in /pub/redhat/updates/real/i386 on ftp.redhat.com and
there are two files there. You will only need one, depending on which
version of the rvplayer package you already have. They are rhmask
files, so you need to have either one of the following packages to
create the new package against:
rvplayer-5.0b2-4.i386.rpm
rvplayer-5.0b2-5.i386.rpm
If you have rvplayer-5.0b2-4.i386.rpm, get rvplayer-5.0-1.i386.rpm.rhmask-4
If you have rvplayer-5.0b2-5.i386.rpm, get rvplayer-5.0-1.i386.rpm.rhmask-5
Construct the new package by using rhmask as in:
rhmask rvplayer-5.0b2-4.i386.rpm rvplayer-5.0-1.i386.rpm.rhmask-4
That will create rvplayer-5.0-1.i386.rpm which you can install as:
rpm -Uvh rvplayer-5.0-1.i386.rpm
If you also have the pnserver package installed, you will need to add
the --force option to the command as in:
rpm -Uvh --force rvplayer-5.0-1.i386.rpm
The reason for that is because of some shared libraries between the two
packages that are out of sync. I'm still working on the pnserver
package. Once I'm finished with that, I'll release an update for it as
well.
I believe there are some problems with the Netscape Plugins that are
contained within this package. Real Networks are still trying to work
the bugs out of that.
These packages contain the 5.0 Gold release of the Real Media client
and have been PGP signed by Red Hat. There is no expiration date on
this player. :)
