So.... can anybody give tell me how to install GRUB properly into my system?
the upgrade used LILO for some reason while I was happy with the graphical
selection used in 7.2. The upgrade is done so I need a safe way to get rid
of LILO and replace it with Grub.

I tried creating a boot disk for Grub but it simply didn't work. Instead it
gave me a grub shell from which I was not able to boot anything. I can't
afford to leave my system unbootable because my CDRW gave up and I have lots
of important info on it.

Here are some of the facts:
    /dev/hda3 /mnt/win Windows XP
    /dev/hda5 /boot Kernel
    /dev/hda8 / Rest of Linux

I installed grub already, it created some default menu.lst but I am stomped
as to how to make the rest of it to work so that I can boot out of that
partition without having to use a slooooow boot diskette.

Thanks,
Emilio

PS. Yes, I looked at the Grub info files but couldn't get the thing to work.
