Hey, Yes, I did get a solution to the problem, but I cannot take credit for it. Alas, I've absent-mendedly lost the name of the person who sent me the fix. So, credit goes to that person; you know who you are! Much Thanks! THE FIX: The issue is that the IP is attempting to be reverse-resolved by 'named'. So, if you don't need to run 'named' then kill it. Voila, no more hesitation. If you DO need to run 'named', then add an entry (I guess) for the host you are trying to telnet to. Or add it to /etc/hosts. (Does that sound good?) Again, credit to the person who sent be the fix: I cannot take credit!
