Which version of AfterStep are you running? That would help.
Also there is an AfterStep mailing list available.
To subscribe: echo subscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
or sendmail with subscribe in the subject and the body of the message
to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The newer versions of AfterStep are way different in how they're
configured (especially if you're used to a .steprc file.
