ssh -cf [EMAIL PROTECTED] app-name

Depending on your connection it may take a few seconds to start and then
every screen update will also be slow.

Not recommended for apps that need lots of updates, but I find it useful
on local networks to forward multi-gnome-terminal and konsole sessions
so that I can have multiple sessions without creating tons of
connections.
