When checking my mail I occasionally get the message "Lost mailbox lock". I've noticed a few things online, but no one seems to have an answer. Any ideas?
Some other process wrote to the mail spool while the POP3 daemon was readng it. Probably more mail being delivered. Most PO3 daemons are designed to allow for that.
Another possibility is that the PO3 session crashed and left a lock on the mailbox. Then when you try again, the POP3 daemon cannot acquire a lock and misreports the error.
