I use bind/dhcpd for ddns on my home network. Works great! I found that: man 5 dhcpd.conf contained good examples on how to setup both ends. i.e. bind and dhcpd. In particular, the chapter labeled DYNAMIC DNS UPDATES. BTW: I use the "interim" style update method.
