Bad as it may sound, remember that when hunting for a job it's not
necessarily *what* you know that counts, but *who* you know.  My wife just
got a job as a rather well-paid technical writer; the man who hired her is
the husband of our pastor at church, who says he may also be able to swing
at least an interview for me for a low-level sysadmin position or web
developer.  My wife he hired with a five minute phone interview.
