Changing the locking method to FCTNL worked perfectly! Now to test out using procmail! :)
If this is really successful, I could set up fetchmail to retrieve all my mail, have it filtered by procmail, and retrieved with kmail (although I'd like to still use Mozilla if possible), but that's in the future and off topic for this thread.
