Is the latest Samba safe to use with Microsoft Access ? I had a bad experience with my program at work on a cobalt cube 3, the Database Front End was kept in folders on the cube (one folder per user) and the back end was kept in a different folder on the cube, it use to work fine then it would have a fit and would corrupt records etc... people said it was something to do with locks. I moved the data to a windows machine on the network and the problem never happened again. I now have a Dell 1600SC with Raid1 running RH9 and samba 2.2.8a-1 will this be ok or do I need to do something with samba ? I would like to move the data over to improve speed.
