I've not been using wu-ftpd for years; but the configuration file should 
be under /etc directory. You should check it.

Anyway, I'd suggest you to use ProFTPD, (http://www.proftpd.org). That's 
easier to install & configure.

To solve your problem, put the following line to /etc/proftpd.conf :
  UseReverseDNS off
