As far as I know NTFS is a read only file-system. As for fat32
mount -t vfat /dev/hdax /mount_point
where x is the valid dos partition and /mount_point is an already created directory.

ok after updating my kernel I was able to mount a NTFS drive but I am unable to change the permissions on it to where I am able to write to it I can only read it but only as root even logged in as root I am unable to change permissions. Is there a way to get past this.
